MPC, MATA & DigiwinSoft Malaysia Forge Partnership to Drive Smart Factory Transformation

13 April 2023, Kuala Lumpur – Today marks a significant milestone for the manufacturing industry in Malaysia as the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA), and DigiwinSoft Malaysia sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive the Smart Factory Transformation initiative.

Dr. Mohamad Norjayadi Tamam, Director of Delivery Management Office, Productivity Growth Department of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Mr. Tiong Khe Hock, President of Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA), and Dr. Ma Yue, CEO of DigiwinSoft Malaysia, were present to formalize the partnership.

This partnership, as the crux of the Smart Factory Transformation initiative, will revolve around a robust approach framework of Diagnosis, Process Analysis, and Digitalization/Intervention stages, which are designed to provide a systematic roadmap for manufacturing companies to successfully adopt and implement smart manufacturing technologies.

The programme’s execution will be dynamic and multifaceted:

  1. Digital Transformation Enterprise Visit to Taiwan – Delegates will gain firsthand knowledge of Taiwan’s productive strategies for technological and digital advancement in the manufacturing sector.
  2. Factory visit and consultation – Expert consultants will assess individual companies’ needs, challenges, and identify the most beneficial solutions.
  3. Implementation and assessment of progress – Regular evaluations will be conducted to ensure the successful launching and running of systems.
  4. Post-implementation follow-up and production of successful case studies – A focus on continuous improvement and sharing best practices will help to achieve company goals.
  5. Roadshow and showcase best practices – Educational podcasts will be disseminated widely to spread awareness and learning.

The MoU signing ceremony was followed by an insightful sharing session on “Going Lean: 7 Biggest Waste to Chop Off” by Mr. Chewie Chou, Senior Consultant of Intelligent Manufacturing System, Digihua Intelligent Systems. Mr. Chou shared valuable insights on identifying and eliminating waste in manufacturing processes, paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient production environment.

This collaboration is expected to have a significant impact on the Malaysian manufacturing industry, paving the way for greater productivity, cost savings, and a more sustainable future.
