About Smart Factory Transformation Programme

Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) is here, and IR5.0 is already on its way. Yet, Malaysian manufacturers, particularly SME companies, are either not embracing the benefits of digital transformation or are facing challenges in doing so. The limitations that they face include:

  • having insufficient knowledge on digital transformation;
  • having insufficient funding for digital transformation; and
  • having a work culture that cannot adapt with digital transformation.

For funding, tax incentives are available for manufacturers undergoing digital transformation. So, what they truly lack is knowledge (i.e., knowledge is also key to creating a digital-friendly culture). This is what the Smart Factory Transformation Programme is about.

Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA), and DigiwinSoft Malaysia are collaborating to make it happen.

The programme is a one-year strategic initiative which aims to help ten (10) selected SME-sized manufacturers to undergo digital transformation, and this is achieved through a combination of organised knowledge-sharing, consultation, implementation, and follow-up.

Programme Itinerary

Under the Programme, each participating manufacturer would undergo the process of digital transformation which can be summarised as follows:

  1. Education – each participant will receive coaching and information on digital transformation, which also includes a visit to digital factories in Taiwan;
  2. Assessment – DigiwinSoft will visit the participant’s factory and assess its operations and facilities;
  3. Consultation & Proposal – DigiwinSoft will provide adequate consultation to the participant, and propose a digital transformation plan suitable to each participant;
  4. Implementation – provided that the participant agrees to the plan, DigiwinSoft will assist the participant in implementing the agreed solutions in order effect the transformation successfully; and
  5. Follow-up & Successful Showcase – after implementation, DigiwinSoft will follow-up with the participant on the solutions implemented, and the participant’s successful transformation will be showcased in future roadshows.

The Programme will last one (1) year from its launching, from April 2023 up until March 2024. Within that time, ten (10) companies are selected, and they will undergo the process in batches of three (3) companies.

The Programme was launched on 13 April 2023, and we are thrilled at having many manufacturers participating, including the following:

  4. Master Jaya Environment Sdn Bhd
  5. Promooi Plastic Industries Sdn Bhd
